Zimbabwe Chevrons claim the first game of the t20i against Ireland by 1 wicket

A brilliant knock of 65 runs and 3 wickets from Sikander Raza saw the team go through. The Chevrons won the game on the last ball with the heroics of Blessing Muzarabani

Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bowl first. Ireland where off to a good start with more than 20 runs from the first 2 overs of Ngarava and Muzarabani posting more than 50 in the first powerplay.

The first wicket on Richard Ngarava draw the Chevrons back into the game , backed by spin wickets from Raza and Williams the game was now in the favour of the hosts . However debutant Ngwandu was hit for more than 20 runs in the last over giving Ireland an opportunity to post 147 runs.

Zimbabwe opened the batting with Wesley Madhevere and Tadiwanashe Marumani , Marumani struggled again to add runs to the board with Madhevere scoring 25.

Zimbabwes` middle order failed to keep the game alive but the brilliance of Raza kept them in the game. Madande was crucial at the backend of the middle order adding 20 runs from just 11 balls.

There was a bit of belief in the Ireland camp after they took the wicket of Raza in the last over but Muzarabani managed to win the game with an inside edge shot on the last ball.
