Meet John T Mabuyane kaLunga a Bulawayo based artist. He is a multi award-winning producer, director, scriptwriter, actor, television host, voice over artist and a thespian.
He is driven by his overwhelming zeal for growing the performing arts and storytelling in general as a career path for Zimbabweans from all walks of life.
This love of the art has seen him produce such phenomenal productions as True colours and Dick Print for theatre, and performed in an outstanding theatre production by lady Tshawe “kumnyama” that landed him his second Best actor nomination for theatre, he has as well been involved in outstanding TV productions.
He is the brains behind the multi award winning drama series “Amanxeba” as a creator, executive producer and partly directed season 1 and left to produce the hard hitting high school diary “A High School Diary.” A drama series set at a boys boarding school in Bulawayo.
He is the executive producer and director of the series that airs on Nrtv. As an actor he has graced screens in Sydney Taivavashe”s “Gonarezhou The Movie” that won best foreign narrative in Hollywood, The NAMA award winning film “Poor Cousins”, “The story of Nehanda” , Shem Zemura’s hard hitting telenovela “Tangled” , ‘Nakai Tsuro’s broken lives’ , his one hander film ‘Toxic Masculinity’, produced and directed a short film ‘Warcry’ and An AFDA series “Musa’s Cry” as the leading role. He is a jack of all trades and is a force to reckon with. A dynamite to watch out for.
