Dave Houghton has resigned as coach of the national side. There has been great achievements at the start of his tenure but two massive disappointments in failing to quality for both the ODI world cup in 2023 and the T20 World Cup in 2024 have been the main triggers.

Houghton met ZC bosses today to discuss his resignation and serve his 2 months notice, although he could stay on beyond that in another role.
This resignation came as a shock to many cricket fans who have fell in love with the game over the past few months because of the reignition that Dave Houghton brought , despite failing to qualify for the ODI world cup in India and the t20i world cup holding in the West Indies next year.
There have been also calls for selectors to resign amid claims of biasis interms of player selections over the past games . Individual players like Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani and Sikander Raza continue to excel in the franchise world with Raza being retained by both Punjab kings and Lahore Qalanders in India and Pakistan respectively.
