The Zimbabwe Chevrons have lost the first t20i match against Srilanka. A brilliant performance from captain Sikander Raza was not enough to win the game .

Raza scored 62 and took 3 crucial wickets of the Srilanka middle order batsmen. Kamunhukamwe redeemed himself with another brilliant knock and Luke Jongwe also added runs to the scoreboard.

Ryan Burl struggled with the bat whilst Sean Williams who joined the team in the past days also a few more runs. At the end of the innings the Chevrons had 142 to defend.

The Zimbabwean bowlers stood up with Richard Ngarava taking a wicket in the first over. His fast bowling partner Blessing Muzarabani also played a very big part ending with a wicket a good economy.

Luke Jongwe was costly in bowling as he was hit for 18 in his first over. Wellington Masakadza was brilliant in his bowling spell taking a wicket and also fielded well taking a couple of catches.

The game went to the last over with Srilanka needing 14 runs. Muzarabani failed to defend this score resulting in the hosts winning the game on last ball with three wickets
