Lorraine Boya, a former ZiFM presenter and producer known for her show “Off the Wall,” has been fined for stealing alcohol valued at US$29 from Food Lovers Market.
Boya was fined US$100 in court yesterday and handed a one-month suspended sentence. The suspended sentence is conditional on her reimbursing Food Lovers Avondale for the stolen bottle worth US$29, as ordered by Harare magistrate Gamuchirai Gore.
Boya admitted to stealing a 750ml bottle of Malibu on February 21 without being caught. Three days later, she returned to the shop and proceeded to the liquor shelf, where she concealed a 750ml bottle of Beefeater London Strawberry gin in her handbag.
Her actions were captured on CCTV by internal security personnel, who then apprehended her outside the shop.
