Musician Tocky Vibes, whose real name is Obey Makamure, is facing possible arrest in South Africa due to fraud allegations. The well-known artist could be detained as soon as he steps foot in Johannesburg, following a case filed by music promoter Royce Mapaike.
The dispute arose from an agreement between Tocky Vibes and Mapaike. The promoter had agreed to fund Tocky Vibes’ video shoots, including covering costs for flights and accommodation.
In return, the musician was supposed to perform at two shows. However, after Mapaike spent nearly R30,000, Tocky Vibes and his management allegedly began avoiding their obligations.
Frustrated by the situation, Mapaike reported the matter to the police at Brixton Police Station. He claims that Tocky Vibes and his team started ignoring his calls and eventually blocked him, leaving him with no other option but to seek legal action. The case is now under police investigation
