Karoi, Zimbabwe — The eagerly awaited judgment on the controversial abandoned match between Karoi United and Scottland FC did not materialize as anticipated yesterday, following a request from Karoi United for additional time to submit a mitigation report. The club was found guilty of causing the match’s abandonment, which took place last month.

The match, halted in the 82nd minute, drew attention after the referee reported severe discomfort, stating he was hit by a “hard object” and was experiencing pain in one of his testicles. He also noted he was bleeding from a wound on his shin caused by the missile.

In light of the Disciplinary Committee’s ruling, Scottland FC’s aspirations for promotion to the Premier Soccer League from the Northern Region Division One Soccer League have received a significant boost. The findings against Karoi United could impact the league standings and promotion opportunities.

The Northern Region Division One Soccer League issued a statement, confirming that the final judgment would be delivered by Monday at the latest. “In the disciplinary proceedings for the abandoned match between Karoi United FC and Scottland FC, after the guilty verdict was reached, Karoi United’s lawyer requested time to submit a mitigation in writing by the close of business on Friday, November 1,” the statement read.
