Beitbridge, Thursday – A tragic road accident claimed the lives of 24 people and left more than 30 others injured in a head-on collision between an Urban Connect bus and a commercial truck. The accident happened 21km north of Beitbridge on Thursday morning.

He said 17 people died at the scene, while seven others died at the hospital due to severe head injuries. He added that officials were still working on the ground and would provide more details later.
Witnesses reported that the bus was traveling to Beitbridge when it collided with a truck heading to Chirundu. The crash occurred just 21km past the Lutumba tollgate. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The injured passengers were taken to the local hospital for treatment. Some of them were in critical condition, and doctors were working hard to save their lives.
