Cde Geza Flees Country Amid Arrest Fears

Geza, who has been vocal in his attacks on the President through several press conferences, is currently facing multiple criminal charges. These include four counts of theft, as defined in Section 113 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act, Chapter 9:23. Geza is also charged with undermining the authority of the President, facing two counts under Section 33 (2) (a) (ii) of the same act. In addition, he faces a charge of incitement to commit public violence, in violation of Section 187 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act, Chapter 9:23.
In response to these charges, the Zimbabwe Republic Police launched a manhunt for Geza, with a stern warning to anyone attempting to aid him. National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, made it clear that law enforcement would leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of the war veteran. He emphasized that any individual found assisting Geza would be held accountable and face legal consequences.
The police’s pursuit of Geza is complicated by his involvement in a separate civil case. Geza is allegedly in breach of a contractual agreement regarding the purchase of Harare Safari Lodge, located on the serene banks of Lake Chivero. The lodge’s owner, Mr. McDonald, claims that Geza has failed to pay the US$1.5 million agreed upon four years ago for the property. Despite not making the payment, Cde Geza is said to have taken possession of the property and is reportedly residing there without consent, enjoying the full use of the lodge located on McIlwane 21 Farm.
Geza’s claims that the land is State property have added to the controversy, with the war veteran asserting that this renders the property unsellable. The situation continues to stir legal and political tensions as the manhunt for Geza intensifies.
As the authorities close in, it remains unclear where Cde Geza may be hiding or what his next move will be.
