Hwange, Zimbabwe – United Zimbabwe Alliance (UZA) president Elisabeth Valerio today led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Gallus Academy, a new private primary school in Magoli Village. The event, held at 10 a.m., marked the beginning of an ambitious project to provide world-class education to third through seventh-grade students from across Africa. The academy aligns with Zimbabwe’s National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), which prioritizes human capital development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Gallus Academy Project Coordinator Denzel Mhepo described the school as a transformative initiative for the community. “This ceremony represents not just the construction of a new school, but a major milestone for our community,” he said. “We are committed to creating job opportunities for residents and providing scholarships for economically disadvantaged students.” The school will focus on academic excellence and innovative learning approaches.
The event was attended by community leaders, educators, and key stakeholders who support education in the Hwange region. The groundbreaking highlights a collective effort to improve access to quality education and uplift the local community. Once completed, Gallus Academy will be the first private school of its kind in Zimbabwe, offering affordable, high-quality education to children across the continent.
