Lungile “Cyclone Ree” Mathe, once crowned Miss Personality at the 2011 Miss Tourism Zimbabwe pageant, has charted a path marked by notable metamorphoses. Her initial foray into the limelight was followed by a series of events that saw her dethroned amid controversy, prompting a relocation to China for professional modeling studies.

In China, Mathe embraced the electronic dance music scene, rebranding herself as DJ Zero and distinguishing herself as one of the few black female DJs in the country. By 2018, she pivoted to entrepreneurship, launching a beauty bar focused on hair supply, before returning to Zimbabwe during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

After a period away from the public eye, Mathe has unveiled her most profound transformation: embracing her ancestral calling as a sangoma. Reflecting on her spiritual journey, she revealed, “I always had a prophetic gift… I did not understand where this gift came from, but as I grew older, I walked away from that life.” She attributed various personal challenges to her earlier reluctance to heed this spiritual summons.

The path to becoming a sangoma was fraught with challenges, including rigorous initiation processes and personal doubts. Mathe recounted a pivotal dream that led her to Njelele, marking the true commencement of her spiritual journey. Despite initial resistance, she completed her training in 2021 under the guidance of her uncle, also a sangoma.

Balancing her spiritual role with aspirations in modeling, Mathe maintains a disciplined fitness regimen in anticipation of a return to the runway. She acknowledges past regrets, particularly concerning financial decisions during her modeling peak, but remains resolute in rebuilding her life and career.
