Popular Johannesburg plastic surgeon Dr Brian Monaisa has confirmed the end of his short-lived romance with television personality Minnie Dlamini.
The pair, who went public with their relationship on Valentine’s Day earlier this year, had been the subject of widespread speculation after recently deleting photos of each other from their Instagram accounts.
Speaking out on Monday, Dr Monaisa addressed rumours that the breakup was caused by infidelity on Dlamini’s part. This follows a cryptic Instagram story he posted that read, “I am sorry Brian. I will never cheat again.” The post quickly spread across social media and blogs, with many speculating that Dlamini had been unfaithful.
In a statement posted on his Instagram page, Dr Monaisa said the rumour was completely false and harmful.
“It is not in my nature to entertain rumors, however, this specific rumour is malicious and has the potential to taint Ms Dlamini’s reputation in circumstances where the rumors are devoid of any truth,” he wrote. “It is for this reason that I deem it necessary to set the record straight.”
He added that the relationship ended for personal reasons and not because of cheating, and that there is still mutual respect between the two.
Minnie and Brian had made headlines earlier this year when they publicly expressed their love online, with Minnie sharing a photo on Valentine’s Day and writing, “Thank you for loving me and loving me loudly. Happy Valentine’s Day Motho Waka @brianmonaisa.”
Rumours of a breakup began in March when fans noticed the couple had removed each other’s photos from their social media pages.
Minnie Dlamini was previously married to television producer Quinton Jones. They divorced in 2022 and share a 4-year-old son, Netha.
