Pep Guardiola and Cristina Serra, who quietly separated in December, are reportedly working on a reconciliation after spending three days together in Barcelona over Easter. Spanish media outlet El Nacional claims the Manchester City coach is “giving his marriage a second chance” following months of distance and divorce rumors.
Guardiola, who’s been living in Manchester for years, returned to the couple’s family home during the Easter break. Serra, a fashion entrepreneur, has been based in Barcelona since 2019 with their youngest daughter, Valentina. Reports suggest she initiated the split after Guardiola extended his Premier League contract through 2027, choosing football over relocating back to Spain.
Despite the emotional and physical distance, both Guardiola and Serra are still wearing their wedding rings a gesture seen by close friends as a hopeful sign. A Barcelona based source, Maria Lapiedra, confirmed the coach has now pledged to visit Serra weekly, signaling his commitment to salvaging their three decade long relationship.
The couple, who first met in 1994 while Guardiola was modeling in Serra’s family-owned fashion store, tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2014. While they’ve spent years apart, they’ve remained connected publicly often seen together at family events and fashion functions despite living in different countries.
