Tragedy struck Mufakose on Wednesday evening after a domestic altercation between two brothers ended in a fatal stabbing, reportedly over a romantic relationship.
Prince Ncube (27), a nurse by profession, allegedly stabbed his older brother Pardon Ncube (30) during an argument while they were playing snooker at Gwenyambira Shopping Centre. Pardon succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at a nearby medical facility.
The altercation is believed to have stemmed from a disagreement involving a woman identified as Phillipa. Prince, who recently got married, is currently on the run, and police are appealing to the public for any information regarding his whereabouts.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the incident and stated, “Police are investigating a murder case involving two biological brothers in Mufakose.”
The community has been left in shock, with many mourning the untimely death of Pardon, who was the son of a respected church elder in the area.
“This is heartbreaking. Prince has always had a violent streak, possibly due to his bodybuilding. It’s hard to imagine someone in the nursing profession capable of such an act,” said a neighbour. “It’s even more tragic that he recently got married and is now involved in a deadly fight over a girlfriend.”
