CAPS United have announced a major change to their technical department, with Lloyd Chitembwe stepping down as head coach to assume the role of Technical Director. Club president Farai Jere confirmed the reshuffle during a press conference on Monday.

Jere said the club is overhauling its technical structure, with the new setup set to take effect this coming weekend. While no names were mentioned for the top job, he confirmed that a new head coach will be unveiled on Thursday.

In the interim, former midfielder Ian Bakala has been named assistant coach in the incoming technical team. His appointment marks a return to the Green Machine in a new capacity after previous stints as a player.

Chitembwe, who has led the team through various campaigns, will no longer be on the touchline. Jere clarified that the incoming coaches will now take full responsibility for matchday results.

Despite stepping back from frontline duties, Chitembwe remains within the CAPS United fold, with his new role expected to focus on long-term strategy and development.
