American R&B singer Chris Brown has been arrested in the United Kingdom in connection with a bottle attack that took place at a London nightclub in February 2023. The arrest occurred in the early hours of May 15, 2025, at a hotel in Manchester, where Brown was taken into custody on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
The alleged assault took place at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, London, where Brown is accused of attacking music producer Abe Diaw .
Reports indicate that Brown struck Diaw over the head with a bottle before continuing to punch and kick him while he lay on the floor. Diaw later required medical attention and was hospitalized, suffering from serious injuries , including a collapsed knee.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Brown was arrested shortly after 2:00 AM at a Manchester hotel. Detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit led the investigation, traveling to Manchester after learning of Brown’s presence in the UK
