United Zimbabwe Alliance (UZA) President Elizabeth Valerio is in Las Vegas promoting Zimbabwe’s tourism and business appeal at IMEX America 2025. On the inaugural day, Gwango made its debut at Booth #E1107, showcasing the country’s Meetings, Incentive, Conferences and Events (MICE) and incentive travel offerings.
Valerio encouraged conference attendees to visit the booth to learn more about Gwango’s newest development: a 250-person conference facility in Hwange, where she believes business and adventure can merge. “Day 1 at IMEX in Las Vegas was incredible! Gwango is proud to debut at Booth #E1107,” she said, reflecting her optimism for the global spotlight.
Central to Gwango’s pitch is Zimbabwe’s natural environment. From Hwange’s elephant herds to nostalgic Africa travel narratives, the presentation sought to connect wildlife tourism with event hosting potential.
Through this promotion, Zimbabwe positions itself not just as a safari destination but as an emerging contender in the global business events market. Its four distinctive properties under the Gwango brand were highlighted as ideal venues for international meetings combined with wildlife experiences.
The move aligns with broader trends in tourism and events. The IMEX America 2025 event began with increased participation, as exhibitor and buyer numbers reportedly surpassed 2024’s levels, signaling renewed confidence in international travel and meetings.
IMEX is described as the largest trade show for the global meetings and incentive travel industry, bringing together industry players to network and explore opportunities.
Gwango’s properties include the Gwango Elephant Lodge and Gwango Heritage Resort in Hwange, and the Gwango Tamarillo Estate in Bulawayo and Matobo, each offering unique natural settings and hospitality to match.
