Rotary Foundation

The Rotary Foundation provides scholarship funding through its Global Grants, aimed at supporting graduate-level study or research for one to four academic years.

Host Institution(s): Any accredited university in a country with a host Rotary club or district outside the applicant’s home country.

Level/Field(s) of Study: Graduate-level coursework or research in one of Rotary’s six areas of focus: peace and conflict resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, and economic and community development.

Target Group: Non-Rotarians who are sponsored by Rotary Clubs or Districts.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions: The minimum funding for a global grant scholarship is $30,000, which can cover expenses such as:

  • Passport/visa fees
  • Vaccinations
  • Travel costs (as outlined in the grant terms)
  • School supplies
  • Tuition fees
  • Room and board
  • Household supplies
  • Language training courses (only if not required for university admission)

Please note that personal and miscellaneous expenses are generally not covered by the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria: For specific eligibility requirements, applicants should refer to the Rotary Club or District’s scholarship page where they intend to apply.

Application Process: Applicants interested in this scholarship should contact their local Rotary clubs via the Rotary Club Locator for information on how to obtain sponsorship for the grant.

Applications for global grants are submitted online. Initially, the sponsor club or district submits the application, and the scholar candidate must then complete their profile online.

Global grant scholarship applications are accepted year-round, but it is recommended to submit them at least three months before the intended departure date to allow sufficient time for review and processing.

Each Rotary Club or District may have its own timeline for applications.

For more details and instructions on how to apply, be sure to consult the Rotary Global Grant Scholarship Supplement and visit the official website.
