Digitalize Zimbabwe Expo: Bindura Leads the Way for ICT Innovation

The bustling town of Bindura is poised to host the latest edition of the Digitalize Zimbabwe Expo this week. The event is part of a nationwide campaign to accelerate the country’s digital transformation.

Organized by Video Promotions Africa under its Roving ICT Expos 20-25 initiative, the two-day event will take place from March 27–28, 2025, at Bindura’s Chipadze Stadium, showcasing cutting-edge technology, digital services, and entertainment aimed at bridging the urban-rural digital divide.

A Platform for Innovation and Inclusion

The expo will feature digital products, from e-government services and fintech solutions to agritech tools and educational platforms.

Tech startups, telecom giants, software developers, and innovators will converge to demonstrate how digitalization reshapes industries and everyday life. Attendees can also expect live entertainment, networking opportunities, and workshops on leveraging technology for business growth.

Pascal Kwaramba, Head Organiser at Video Promotions Africa, emphasized the expo’s mission:

“We will continue hosting these expos until every Zimbabwean witnessed firsthand how the nation is embracing digitalization. Our goal is to leave no community behind—whether in Bindura, Bulawayo, or the most remote village.”

Government-Backed Push for Digital Access

Acting on behalf of the Ministry of ICT, Postal, and Courier Services, Kwaramba urged all stakeholders in the ICT sector to participate.

“We call on telecom providers, innovators, educators, and entrepreneurs to join us in this movement. Collaboration is key to building a digitally empowered Zimbabwe,” he added.

The ministry has endorsed the expos as critical to achieving national development goals, including financial inclusion, e-learning expansion, and SME digitization.

Why Bindura?

Bindura, a mining and agricultural hub in Mashonaland Central, represents the campaign’s focus on blending rural and urban digital needs.

The expo will highlight solutions tailored for farming communities, such as IoT-enabled irrigation systems and mobile marketplaces, alongside urban-centric innovations like smart city technologies and cybersecurity platforms.

Entertainment Meets Education

Beyond tech displays, the event promises family-friendly entertainment, including live music, gaming zones, and digital art installations, ensuring broad appeal.

“Digitalization isn’t just about tools—it’s about culture,” said Kwaramba.

“We want people to see technology as a gateway to opportunity, creativity, and connection.”

A Nationwide Movement

Since its launch, the Roving ICT Expos 20-25 initiative has toured multiple provinces, with Bindura marking its sixth stop.

Future editions are planned for Matabeleland and Masvingo, reinforcing the government’s pledge to democratize digital access ahead of its 2030 development targets.
