Harare, March 19, 2025 – Popular comedian and brand influencer Admire Mushambi, widely known as Mama Vee, has taken legal action against Zimbabwean rapper Holy Ten, accusing him of defamation. In a letter of demand dated March 19, 2025, Mama Vee’s legal team claims that Holy Ten made false and damaging statements about him, leading to reputational and financial harm.

The letter, issued by lawyer Sadowera Kuwana, states that Holy Ten (real name Mukudzei Chitsama) publicly labeled Mama Vee as homosexual in a March 4, 2025, Instagram video. It further alleges that during a March 18 interview with DJ Ollah 7, the rapper repeated the claims, stating that Mama Vee had a negative influence on young people and was undeserving of a National Arts Merit Award (NAMA).

According to the letter, Holy Ten also made derogatory remarks when the two coincidentally met on a flight from South Africa to Zimbabwe on March 10. The legal team argues that these statements were malicious and intended to damage Mama Vee’s reputation.

As a result, the comedian claims he has lost brand partnerships and suffered emotional distress due to negative social media comments. His lawyers are demanding a public retraction within 48 hours and monetary compensation of US$100,000 for damages.
