A woman from Epworth experienced severe abdominal swelling after being cursed for having an affair with a married man, and she passed away this Thursday.
Chiyedza Samantha Chenai Luwizhi (29), who had previously been featured in this newspaper, experienced significant swelling in her abdomen and entire body. She had an affair with Maxwell Chikwiramakomo (46), which prompted Chikwiramakomo’s wife to seek the services of a traditional healer who provided a curse intended for her husband.
As a result, Luwizhi started experiencing severe swelling. Both Luwizhi’s and Chikwiramakomo’s families recently visited the traditional healer in an attempt to resolve Luwizhi’s swelling. However, nothing was resolved because Luwizhi’s family could not afford the fee demanded by the healer, along with Chikwiramakomo’s wife, to lift the curse.
Luwizhi’s mother, Ronester Nyamupfukudza (46), and Tonderai Danda (39), an uncle of the deceased, confirmed her death. “It’s true, Chiyedza left us this morning (Thursday). I received a call from the children informing me of our daughter’s passing. It is very painful, even though we were hoping she would survive despite what happened,” said Danda.
Nyamupfukudza expressed deep sorrow over her daughter’s death. “My daughter has died, and I am deeply pained. But she won’t go alone, we will end this together, you will hear about it,” she said.
Previously, Luwizhi admitted to having an affair with Chikwiramakomo, who is married to Memory Mondo (25) since 2021. Mondo confessed to visiting a traditional healer who gave her a curse to place on her husband. Maxwell also admitted to Kwayedza that he was having an affair with Chiyedza.
During the visit to the traditional healer, Mondo demanded a refund of the US$200 she had paid for the curse, while the healer demanded two cows each from both Luwizhi and Chikwiramakomo to lift the curse.
