Former Zambian President Edgar Lungu has died in South Africa.

According to sources, Lungu visited a hospital this morning for a routine medical review but later developed chest complications and passed away.

The name of the hospital has not been disclosed, and there has been no official statement yet from his family or the Zambian government.

Lungu served as Zambia’s president from 2015 until 2021. He previously held the position of Minister of Defence and Justice before assuming the presidency.
