On April 25, 2025, detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics in Beitbridge carried out a successful operation. They stopped a Vicky Bus at a service station and arrested three passengers for unlawful possession of dagga. The suspects were identified as Primrose Madhume (31), Sharon Nyadzayo (29), and Takudzwa Malimi (20).
The police found eight cobs of dagga hidden inside two plate gas stoves. The officers said the drugs were carefully packed to avoid detection, but their quick action led to the discovery. The three suspects were immediately taken into custody and are expected to appear in court soon.
On the same day, police arrested another suspect in a different area. Itai Madhumbe (44) was found with dagga and crystal meth at a house in Mt Hampden. The officers carried out a search at the property and discovered the illegal drugs.

CID Drugs and Narcotics reminded people that drug abuse and trafficking destroy lives and communities. They encouraged the public to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
