The rain season has brought with it good fortunes but have been a nightmare for motorists around the country. This comes with poor drainage , dilapidated roads , among others.

Businessman Wicknell Chivhayo had his car fixed after the wheels were worn out and this has raised a lot of speculation on why this is so. Whilst public opinion says this is due to dilapidated roads in Harare ,the truth is not yet clear.

Journalist Hopewell Chin, ono had this to say:

This Rolls Royce belongs to convicted criminal Wicknell who is part of the ZANUPF corrupt tender system.
They loot public funds and buy Rolls Royces to show off to their victims in a country with potholed roads.

It never occurs to them that the public money that they are looting daily is the same money that should be building and repairing roads!

Corruption and misuse of public funds are at the heart of why Zimbabwe is still using a road system designed and inherited from the colonial government 43 years ago.
A basic road system that the Government has failed to maintain yet it collects road taxes, fuel levy, tolls gate fees and more due to corruption.

Such actions have terrible detrimental effects on a country’s development and infrastructure.
Dealing with ZANUPF corruption is crucial for fostering a fair and accountable society where roads are pristine and looking like a B52 has dropped cluster bombs.

Pictures below tell the tragic story of public money theft and dilapidated roads at the same time.
