This past weekend, hundreds of fans eager to attend the popular Doek and Slay event at Alex Sports Club were left disappointed after falling prey to fraudulent ticket sellers.
The event, which drew a crowd of over 13,000 women on Sunday, became the center of controversy when many attendees were denied entry. According to a statement posted on the Doek and Slay Facebook page, numerous fans had their tickets seized by security at the entrance, as they were believed to be counterfeit.
Further reports indicate that a staggering 708 fake tickets and 1,452 counterfeit tags were discovered during the event check-in process.
The organizers took to social media to address the situation, stating, “Askana, we hope you now understand why we repeatedly warned against buying tickets from unauthorized sellers. It’s heartbreaking to see so many of you disappointed because of fake tickets. How does it feel to be barred from attending an event due to counterfeit tickets? We turned back hundreds with 708 fake tickets and 1,452 phony tags.”
The incident highlights the importance of purchasing tickets from official sources to avoid such disappointments.
