Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) is inviting applications for its 2025-2026 scholarship programme

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) is offering scholarships to foreign students not living in Italy and to Italian citizens living abroad for the 2025–2026 academic year.

These scholarships aim to support international education, promote Italian language and culture, and strengthen global ties.

Where:

  • Public or accredited universities and institutions in Italy

What You Can Study:

  • Bachelor’s or Single Cycle Degrees
  • Master’s Degrees
  • PhDs
  • Research projects
  • Arts, Music & Dance (AFAM) courses
  • Italian language and culture programs

Who Can Apply:

Applicants are from selected countries including South Africa, Kenya, Egypt, Ethiopia, Morocco, and others. Also open to Italians living abroad.

What’s Included:

  • Up to €9,000 (paid in 3 parts; or €3,000 for short courses)
  • Free or reduced tuition (depending on the institution)
  • Medical/accident insurance for the duration of your stay

Requirements:

  • Must not live in Italy (unless you’re an Italian citizen living abroad)
  • Hold the right qualifications for the program you are applying for
  • Age limits vary by course (e.g., under 28 for Master’s, under 30 for PhD)

Language skills:
