JUST IN: Harare Magistrate Tafadzwa Miti sentences former Zengeza West MP Hon. Job Sikhala to serve 2 years in prison, which she however wholly suspended on condition of good behaviour. Magistrate Miti stated that she had considered that Hon. Sikhala had spent considerable time in pre-trial detention.

His co accused Godfrey Sithole has also been handed wholly suspended 2-year jail sentences after he was convicted for inciting public violence. Job Sikhala is now set to be going home today

Journalist Hopewell Chin, ono commented : Zimbabwean political prisoner Job Sikhala who spent 595 days in prison without bail has been given a 3 year suspended sentence.

It means he will be released immediately, however even the 3 year suspended sentence is crazy for someone who was convicted using bogus arguments!

While there are celebrations around the country because of this judgement, some remain adamant that the two year sentence was not ideal as the state failed to prove how he directly incited the violent act
