A medical practitioner at George Masebe Hospital in Limpopo has been placed on precautionary suspension following serious allegations of attempted r@pe involving a pregnant woman.
The reported incident is said to have taken place on Sunday, April 27, during a routine prenatal ultrasound in the hospital’s sonar examination room.
The patient had been undergoing an abdominal scan when the alleged assault occurred.
Limpopo Health MEC Dieketseng Mashego confirmed the suspension and emphasized that the Department of Health is treating the matter with the utmost urgency.
An internal investigation is now underway to establish the full details of the incident.
