Prophet Talent Madungwe, a self-styled prophet known for his bizarre claims of meeting God in heaven, has fallen on hard times and is now struggling to pay his rent.

Critics argue that his current situation is a form of divine punishment for the blasphemous way he used to incorporate God’s name into his obscure sermons.

The founder of Exile Desire of All Nations is facing eviction after failing to pay rent for almost four months at his residence in Hatfield, Harare. His 70-year-old landlady, Gogo Mangena, expressed her frustration to H-Metro, revealing that Prophet Madungwe is considering leaving without settling his dues.

“I was being silenced from demanding my rentals for some time,” said Gogo Mangena. “Prophet Madungwe disrespects me, continually promising to pay but never doing so. I gave him a notice, and now he wants to leave without paying my money. This is unfair, especially since I respect him as a celebrity. He conducts three prayers daily without going to work. I can’t survive on his prayers; I need my money.”

Prophet Madungwe acknowledged his financial difficulties, attributing them to temptations. “Things have not been well for me since September last year,” he said. “When you can’t afford rent, it means your children are starving. I am being attacked by the Devil because of my preaching, and many enemies want to see me fall. But I will not give up. I haven’t met God for talks in a while. Besides, God does not give us money but the power to heal and raise the dead.”

The controversial prophet, who has a minor child and a wife expecting another, made headlines with his wild claims of frequent visits to Heaven, where he allegedly held meetings and shared meals with God. Critics deemed these claims blasphemous and view his current troubles as evidence of divine retribution.
