27-year-old Mauritanian goalkeeper Babacar Niasse is known as one of Africa’s tallest professional goalkeepers. Born in Senegal on December 20, 1996, Niasse began his football journey as an attacking midfielder before switching to goalkeeper.
Niasse stands at an impressive 1.95 meters (6 feet 5 inches) tall, which has been a key asset in his goalkeeping career. He started his international career playing for the Senegal U17 team at the 2011 African U-17 Championship. In March 2022, he was called up to represent Mauritania, his national team.
