Zimbabwean gospel music lovers are in for a treat in August at the Glamis Arena, Harare. Their Kingdom World Tour began in USA featuring Kirk Franklin, an American gospel guru.
The Events Director Pastor Lyncs Kapswara in a statement said “Kingdom tour is what it started as and that was a tour within the United States But now exciting to announce that it’s now coming Beyond just America. It is now the kingdom world tour and so that encompasses other countries specifically for us that’s Africa. So excited that they’re coming to Zimbabwe so uh it’s Maverick City together with Kirk Franklin. They are the main headlighters of this event and so yeah they’re going to be bringing their music bringing worship into the nation.
I think the best way to describe is I think during the covid time which was a very difficult time for everyone across the world really that’s when a lot of people began to really hear the music of Maverick because I think they started releasing songs that really help people through a very difficult season. Songs like Jireh are Songs that I believe a lot of people will be able to identify with and a host of other songs. Kirk Franklin’s songs like now behold the Lamb, my life is in your hand are songs that I think are old school songs but still resonate with us today”
The group is a five-time Grammy award winner known for its gospel masterpieces like ‘Jireh’ and ‘Promises’ and its feature Kirk Franklin has twenty Grammy awards and is well known for his hits like ‘My Life Is In Your Hands’ and ‘I Smile’ among others
