Zimbabwean comedian Nijo has postponed his much-anticipated stand-up comedy show in Warsaw, originally scheduled for Sunday, August 17, citing last-minute challenges.

In a statement to fans, Nijo said the event will be moved to a new date, which will be announced on Tuesday. He explained that despite efforts to resolve the issue, it was not possible to proceed with the show as planned.

“It is with great difficulty that I write this to inform you of the postponement of our show from this Sunday the 17th of August to a date to be announced this coming Tuesday,” Nijo said. “We encountered a last minute challenge which we fought hard to resolve but unfortunately could still not be able to make it in time for the show.”

The comedian expressed disappointment at the development, saying he had been looking forward to performing. He also acknowledged the inconvenience caused to fans who had made travel and accommodation arrangements.

“I understand many of you had made great sacrifices, used a lot of money for travel and accommodation just to make it for this experience and I have terribly let you down. I am genuinely sorry,” he said.

Nijo assured ticket holders that efforts are underway to secure the same venue for the rescheduled date. If this is not possible, he said an alternative venue close to the original location will be arranged to minimise disruption to travel plans.

Ticket refunds are being offered to those unable to attend on the new date. Fans can request a refund by replying to the announcement email with the word “REFUND,” with processing expected to take seven to eight working days.

However, those who wish to attend the postponed show can retain their tickets for the rescheduled event. Nijo concluded his message by thanking supporters for their understanding and patience, adding, “We are still going to have a good time when the show eventually happens.”
