Opposition United Zimbabwe Alliance (UZA) leader Elisabeth Valerio addressed residents at a community hall event in Chinhoyi, Mashonaland West. The event, titled The Path to National Prosperity, aimed to discuss the country’s challenges and possible solutions. Many residents gathered to share their concerns and hear Valerio’s vision for Zimbabwe’s future.

During the meeting, a single mother spoke about the difficulties she and others face in finding jobs. She explained that many women are forced into risky ways of making a living because of a lack of opportunities. Another resident voiced frustration with elections, saying that past polls have not changed anything in Zimbabwe for decades. The crowd listened closely as people shared their struggles.

In response, Valerio assured the residents that she is committed to improving their lives. She promised to question and challenge the government to ensure that citizens’ concerns are addressed. She also criticized the ruling party, ZANU-PF, saying their ongoing internal conflicts have always been about power and personal gain rather than serving the people. She warned citizens not to be deceived by political games.

Valerio stressed the importance of protecting Zimbabwe’s Constitution. She warned that if leaders continue changing laws for their own benefit, the country could fall further into dictatorship. Instead of focusing on their political fights, she urged leaders to address urgent issues like hunger, healthcare, and education. She pointed out that many Zimbabweans are struggling while the government fails to take action.

The UZA leader ended her speech by calling for real leadership that puts the people first. She said Zimbabwe has enough resources to provide jobs and opportunities for all citizens. Valerio promised to push for policies that improve lives and give hope for a better future.
