The Modimolle Regional Court has postponed the Phala Phala farm robbery trial to 15 September 2025 following a request from one of the accused, Froliana Joseph, who is in the final stages of pregnancy.
Joseph’s defence team submitted a formal request for a three-month postponement on medical grounds, which was granted without objection from the prosecution.
The trial had initially been scheduled to commence on 19 May 2025.
Froliana Joseph, along with her brother David Joseph and co-accused Imanuwela David, faces charges related to the alleged theft of US$580,000 in cash from President Cyril Ramaphosa’s farm in Limpopo back in February 2020.
The matter has drawn significant national attention, given the high-profile nature of the case and the involvement of the sitting president.
