BULAWAYO – The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has launched an investigation into the tragic death of Detective Constable Cassandra Hove of CID Homicide Bulawayo, who was fatally shot on March 6, 2025, while in pursuit of armed robbery suspects.

According to a statement released by the ZRP, the shooting took place in the Harbek area of Pumula South, Bulawayo. Authorities have assured the public that a full investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Commissioner-General of Police Stephen Mutamba expressed condolences to the Hove family and reaffirmed the police’s commitment to fighting violent crime. He emphasized that law enforcement will not back down in its efforts to combat armed robberies and other criminal activities across the country.
