Business executive and entrepreneur Alice Pote has died at the age of 33.

Pote, who was the financial director of Pote Holdings for 10 years, died on Monday from acute respiratory failure and pulmonary embolism. Her death was confirmed last night by her brother, Mr Anthony Clever Pote, the prominent businessman behind the Pote Holdings empire.

“Alice has left us without saying goodbye. I am devastated,” said Mr Pote. “She was one of the directors of Pote Holdings, a pillar of strength. She has been behind the success of our business empire. She just left us at 33, very young and promising. The post mortem revealed that she died of acute respiratory failure and pulmonary embolism.”

Alice Pote was also the founder of Stallion Cruise, a bus company operating under her leadership. She was the second last born in her family and leaves behind three children.

Pote Holdings, where she played a critical leadership role, operates across several sectors including transport and logistics, hospitality, mining, retail, construction, earthmoving, micro-finance, and agriculture.

Burial is scheduled for tomorrow in Chivi, Takavarasha area, at Marecha Village. Mourners are gathered at house number 956 Eastlea, Zvishavane.
