Zimbabwean-owned Prevail Group of Companies has signed a landmark partnership agreement with the government of Burkina Faso to implement multi-billion-dollar infrastructure, housing and mining projects in the West African nation.
The agreement, signed through the Burkina National Major Projects Office (BN-GPB), includes the construction of a US$590 million International Conference Centre and Hotel Complex, US$36 million Presidential Villas and a US$4 billion housing project.
Prevail Group founder and chief executive officer, Dr Paul Tungwarara, announced the development following a meeting with Burkina Faso Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo.
The partnership will also see the company collaborate with the Société Nationale d’Aménagement des Terrains Urbains (SONATUR) and the Société Nationale des Substances Précieuses (SONASP) on mining-related projects.
Dr Tungwarara described the agreement as a major milestone for the company and an opportunity to contribute to Burkina Faso’s development.
“This agreement marks a major milestone for Prevail Group and presents an opportunity for us to contribute to infrastructure development and economic growth in Burkina Faso,” he said.
He expressed gratitude for securing the partnership, saying the achievement reflected God’s guidance and faithfulness.
“I am grateful for this opportunity. It is through God’s guidance and faithfulness that we have reached this important milestone,” Dr Tungwarara said.
He said the company remained committed to delivering projects that improve lives and stimulate economic development.
“We are committed to using this opportunity to build infrastructure, uplift communities and drive meaningful economic growth,” he said.
The projects are expected to strengthen infrastructure development, expand housing delivery and support investment in Burkina Faso’s mining sector while creating business and employment opportunities for local communities.
The agreement marks a significant expansion of Prevail Group’s operations beyond Zimbabwe as the company continues to grow its footprint across Africa.
