Ruth Hwara, who was waiting for a kidney transplant, has sadly passed away. The news was confirmed by influencer and entrepreneur Joey Nyikadzino on Facebook.
Nyikadzino shared the heartbreaking news on her Facebook page, mentioning that she had seen a message in the Hwara family WhatsApp group announcing Ruth’s death. She expressed her condolences and criticized those who delayed Ruth’s treatment, saying they would face judgment from God.
In her post, Nyikadzino wrote, “We just saw a message in the Hwara group that Ruth is no more. May her soul rest in peace. Zimbabwe wanted you to live and fulfill your dreams, but it wasn’t meant to be. Whoever delayed Ruth’s treatment, may God deal with you.”
Ruth, a 24-year-old recent graduate from the University of Zimbabwe, had shared her story on a GoFundMe page some time ago. She explained that after graduating in December 2022, she was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and had to undergo dialysis twice a week.
Her doctor told her that a kidney transplant was her only hope for survival, but the procedure in India would cost $30,000—an amount she couldn’t afford. Ruth reached out for help, hoping others would support her in this difficult time.
Although some money was raised, it was unfortunately not used for the intended purpose
