The McDonald’s HACER National Scholarship Program is dedicated to supporting exceptional Hispanic students across the United States.
Since its inception, the program has awarded over $33 million, reflecting McDonald’s commitment to empowering diverse communities.
Scholarship Overview
The program offers three levels of financial awards:
- Tier 1: Up to $100,000
- Tier 2: $20,000 or $10,000
- Tier 3: $5,000
Each year, 30 scholarships are granted to outstanding Hispanic students.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a high school senior.
- Be a U.S. citizen, legal resident, or DREAMER/DACA recipient.
- Be under the age of 21.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8.
- Be eligible to enroll full-time in a two- or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school.
- Disclose any other scholarships applied for.
- Commit to attending an accredited institution in the academic year following selection (funds are sent directly to the institution).
- Have at least one parent of Hispanic or Latino heritage.

Application Process
Applicants are required to submit:
- Academic transcripts.
- A personal statement.
- A letter of recommendation.
- A list of community service activities.
- A FAFSA report or 1040 tax forms.
Selections are based on academic performance, financial need, community involvement, and personal qualities. Scholarship recipients are announced by June each year.
