McDonald's HACER

The McDonald’s HACER National Scholarship Program is dedicated to supporting exceptional Hispanic students across the United States.

Since its inception, the program has awarded over $33 million, reflecting McDonald’s commitment to empowering diverse communities.

Scholarship Overview

The program offers three levels of financial awards:

  • Tier 1: Up to $100,000
  • Tier 2: $20,000 or $10,000
  • Tier 3: $5,000
    Each year, 30 scholarships are granted to outstanding Hispanic students.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a high school senior.
  • Be a U.S. citizen, legal resident, or DREAMER/DACA recipient.
  • Be under the age of 21.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8.
  • Be eligible to enroll full-time in a two- or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school.
  • Disclose any other scholarships applied for.
  • Commit to attending an accredited institution in the academic year following selection (funds are sent directly to the institution).
  • Have at least one parent of Hispanic or Latino heritage.

Application Process

Applicants are required to submit:

  • Academic transcripts.
  • A personal statement.
  • A letter of recommendation.
  • A list of community service activities.
  • A FAFSA report or 1040 tax forms.

Selections are based on academic performance, financial need, community involvement, and personal qualities. Scholarship recipients are announced by June each year.
