Bulawayo, Zimbabwe – In a brazen act of robbery, seven armed men stormed a steel company in Belmont, Bulawayo, on the night of October 15, 2024. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) reported that the suspects, armed with pistols and a pick, made off with USD 32,500 and ZAR 300 in cash.

The robbers overpowered the security measures in place, tying up two security guards and twelve workers with shoelaces.

The workers were on duty when the incident occurred. One worker sustained injuries after being struck on the head with a pick while attempting to escape.

The suspects also confiscated valuables and cellphones from the workers before fleeing the scene with the stolen cash. The ZRP is currently investigating the incident and urges anyone with information to come forward.
