In a press conference, Job Sikhala says the solution to the political crisis in Zimbabwe is answered by authors and originators of the mass democratic struggle in Zimbabwe, the team of 1999.

Sikhala is proposing a new mass movement with organs in every part of life, women’s groups, among others

He also said no one will be left without being consulted in this movement ,emboldened by the spirit of Mandela the leader appeared adamant and intentional on his next moves.

Sikhala also said he is not forming a new party but a political movement like the one in South Africa in the 1980s (but wasn’t that bolstered by ANC?)
He said do not promise what you can not deliver , their group is decisive. They are men and women of their word.

Sikhala says what is happening in the opposition is familiar. He says the ruling party is exploiting the weaknesses within the opposition by delivering patronage (he should say which leaders have received patronage and not make claims without evidence)

He likened the situation to a similar encounter in the DR Congo when Mobutu Seseko used the same strategy to infiltrate the opposition and dismantle it from within.

While other political analysts have applauded his efforts they had this to say:

Nothing wrong with the Originators of MDC 1999 like what Job Sikhala alluded to in his speech.

Problem is all of you want to be Presidents and none of you listen to the other. THAT IS WHY YOU SPLIT IN THE FIRST PLACE because you all think you are better at being the leader.

Whilst others say : Majority of MDC founding members are compromised, I don’t know why Sikhala thinks that can change now. Uniting of the compromised MDC founding members only perpetuates the ruling party’s grip on power. Any unity would be a facade, meant to deceive the people.
