Gospel Ronald Ngulube is battling to reclaim his song Getaway after it was allegedly stolen and falsely credited to another artist, Jerdan Paradise.
Ngulube originally wrote and recorded the song in 2016 at Diamond Studios and launched it at a Heartfelt International Ministries event. However, in 2020, he discovered the song online with no acknowledgment of his authorship. Efforts to address the issue were dismissed by Jerdan, who insisted the song was his.
The controversy deepened this year when Jerdan re-recorded Getaway with Denzel and Madam Boss, once again excluding Ngulube. After public backlash, Jerdan updated the song’s description to credit Ngulube as the writer but maintained his ownership claims. Ngulube’s management has condemned the act, describing it as a blatant violation of copyright laws and a disregard for ethics in the music industry.
Ngulube’s team is now exploring legal action to protect his intellectual property.
