Harare, Zimbabwe – In a recent development, Starlink has begun shutting down its Roaming subscribers in Zimbabwe, affecting potentially thousands of users who had not managed to transfer their accounts to the country.

This move comes as a major blow to many who had relied on the Roaming package to access Starlink’s satellite internet services.

Before Starlink was officially licensed in Zimbabwe, many users purchased their kits in neighboring countries such as Malawi, Mozambique, and Zambia.

They subscribed to the Roaming package, allowing them to use Starlink in Zimbabwe. It is estimated that around 5,000 subscribers were on the Roam plan.

Following the licensing of Starlink in Zimbabwe, the company advised these customers to transfer their accounts to Zimbabwe within 60 days or face disconnection.

However, it remains unclear how many users managed to complete the transfer, given the payment issues and congestion problems in Harare.
