Harare City’s executive had every reason to celebrate after the club secured promotion back to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League following a convincing 3-0 win over Jumbo Giants at Callies Ground today.

The Sunshine Boys sealed the MCM Estates Northern Region Soccer League championship in style, ending their four-year stay outside the top flight and completing an impressive campaign.

The victory marked the end of a successful season for a club that combined strong performances on the pitch with stability in its administration.

Club chairman Simon Muzviyo led an executive committee that provided direction and oversight throughout the season, helping create an environment that allowed the team to focus on its promotion ambitions.

The club also benefited from financial stability, which enabled it to maintain its operations and support the team’s campaign without major disruptions.

Harare City faced stiff competition from Black Rhinos, who remained serious contenders for the championship and kept the pressure on throughout the season.

However, the Sunshine Boys remained focused and collected crucial results at important stages of the campaign to maintain their position at the top of the standings.

Their final-day victory over Jumbo Giants confirmed their status as champions, while also ending Black Rhinos’ hopes of winning the league title.

The promotion marks a major step forward for Harare City, who were relegated from the Premier Soccer League in 2022.

The club will now turn its attention to preparations for the new season, with the priority being to build a competitive squad capable of holding its own against the country’s top teams.

After successfully navigating a challenging campaign through organisational stability and consistent performances, Harare City will be hoping to make a strong return to the Premier Soccer League.
