CCC vice president Tendai Biti has spoken to the media. In his interview he says he is still the vice president of CCC and he will never leave the party.

He refers to the party structures that were put in place in 2019 when the MDC alliance had a congress in Gweru. Biti said he knows nothing about the letter circulating on social media and in news about Chamisa he says all people should not abandon the movement and fight for democracy.

These comments are crucial because CCC on its formation said they are a new party which has nothing to do with MDC alliance but the court arguments by Senzezo Tshabangu are in sync with those of Biti.

Biti also quoted the late Morgan Tsvangirayi stating that in instances like this he would urge all parties to remain united and not fight for power. The interview shows that Biti has no intention of leaving the CCC and would like to continue it’s legacy.

On the other hand the resignation of Fadzayi Mahere from parliament raises the question on where exactly where she will belong as Biti claims CCC is there to stay.
