It makes a lot of sense for ZANUPF to want CCC to stay in parliament because an immediate CCC mass withdrawal from parliament will create a massive international political crisis of legitimacy and credibility for ZANUPF and the regime.
It will affect reengagement sideshows and international financial debt relief talks.
It will also bring back the issue of the sham election on the table, something that ZANUPF has successfully hidden through the Tshabangu fraud by putting CCC in survival mode.
Mnangagwa and ZANUPF know that they will immediately become Southern Africa’s North Korea if CCC pulls out!
Imagine a parliament with just ZANUPF MPs and a few Tshabangu MPs.
ZANUPF is going to bribe anyone who can influence CCC to stay in parliament because it knows that CCC won’t be able to stop anything on the ZANUPF parliamentary agenda now that it has Two-Thirds majority.
CCC will be going to parliament just to make empty noises, that is why CCC is needed in parliament by the regime to create a facade of democracy.
Countries whose ambassadors are in bed with ZANUPF will persuade CCC to stay in parliament for their own interests because their home parliaments and eventually governments will not want to be seen engaging with a pariah state without opposition in parliament.
Those ambassadors will want to be seen to be succeeding back home so they will encourage CCC to stay in parliament.
CCC will face problems from the MP who is in it for a salary and perks that include a 4×4 car.
It will also face problems from MPs who are using parliament as a launch pad for international jobs, they won’t want to leave parliament because it is a means to an end for them.
Very few are in parliament for the struggle, many are careerists or as Julius Malema coined it, EATISTS!
Zimbabwean politics is about individual opportunities that is why both in ZANUPF and CCC some paid to be on the ticket.
There is no sane opposition politician who will want to be part of such a political charade that only advances the political agenda of ZANUPF, that is what this parliament is now about after yesterday’s fraud and criminality.
There is nothing that the opposition MPs will change in parliament, we already expose corruption effectively from outside parliament, in fact the media has gotten ministers resign including a Vice President, something that parliament has never done.
So going to the ZANUPF run parliament will just be stomach politics at work.
Unless our politics is just about making noise without any results, there is no point of being in a captured and corrupt parliament, a place whose latest MPs are in parliament through a criminal route!
So yes, ZANUPF social media accounts are encouraging CCC to stay in parliament for those reasons stated above!
A place that gives you nothing towards your struggle and goals is not worth legitimising unless you are part of the charade!
