Mzala, known for his impactful contributions to the entertainment industry, is now facing a challenging health situation. The stroke has significantly affected his ability to communicate, and he requires assistance to navigate daily tasks. Thursday evenings in the 90s held a special charm as viewers eagerly tuned in to witness the magic of Ezomgido, presented by the dynamic duo, Mzala and Eric “General” Knight, on ZTV.

The joyous atmosphere they created became a cherished part of the weekly routine, offering entertainment and musical delights that
linger in the hearts of fans to this day. In stark contrast to his once-jovial demeanour, Mzala now finds himself in challenging circumstances, as revealed during a recent interview on Tilder Moyo’s Facebook show, “Tilder Live Zim”. The veteran presenter, who once exuded vibrancy, appeared as a pale shadow of his former self.

Tilder Moyo’s visit to his home shed light on the hardships Mzala is currently enduring, marking a poignant moment in his journey.
Mzala’s son John Junior who lives with his father in Harare said after he suffered the stroke, life has been difficult for him and he is struggling to make ends meet.

“My father is grappling with high blood pressure. Unfortunately, one day he woke up to a stroke that left him unable to speak and
has since presented serious challenges with his speech. His voice, which is his talent, has been a prominent feature on TV where he engaged in conversations. Regrettably, following the stroke, he is presently unable to utilise his voice.

“When having a conversation, if you’re not accustomed to conversing with him, understanding him can be challenging,” said
John Junior He mentioned being self-employed as a mechanic and shared that he, along with his sister, is taking care of Mzala.
John Junior explained that their family doctor passed away several years ago, and since then, obtaining medical assistance for his father has been challenging due to the high fees involved.

“Our family lost our trusted family doctor, and when my father isn’t feeling well, we attempt to seek medical help, but the expenses are quite prohibitive. I believe that if I could secure a stable job, I would be in a better position to take care of my father. I hold an advanced Level 3 IVQ diploma in both repair and diagnosis,” he said. Friends, colleagues, and fans of Mzala are being urged to come together to provide the support needed during this difficult time.

Any assistance, whether financial or emotional, will make a meaningful difference in helping the veteran broadcaster on his
path to recovery. For those willing to contribute or send words of encouragement, please contact John Junior at +263 782 426 725. The number is not on WhatsApp. People can alternatively contact the Tilder Live
Show at +263 772 895 894.
