For the first time in 21 years, the Minnesota Timberwolves closed out a playoff series on their home court—and they’re headed back to the Western Conference Finals for the second consecutive season.

The Timberwolves defeated the Golden State Warriors 121-110 on Wednesday night at the Target Center, winning the best-of-seven series 4-1. After dropping Game 1, Minnesota bounced back with four straight victories, capitalizing on the absence of Warriors star Steph Curry, who missed the series with a hamstring injury sustained in the opener.

The win marks a major milestone for the Timberwolves, who now await the winner of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets series. The Thunder lead that matchup 3-2, with Game 6 set for Thursday night in Denver.

Veteran point guard Mike Conley Jr. led the charge early, scoring 16 points on 4-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc while also collecting six rebounds and dishing out eight assists. Star guard Anthony Edwards filled the stat sheet with 22 points, 12 assists, and seven rebounds, continuing to show his growth as a two-way leader. Rudy Gobert added 17 points and eight rebounds, while Jaden McDaniels chipped in with 14 points, four rebounds, four steals, and two assists.

Minnesota shot an impressive 63 percent from the field and forced 17 turnovers by Golden State. Despite committing 20 turnovers themselves, the Timberwolves’ efficiency and energy on both ends of the floor proved too much for the shorthanded Warriors.

With momentum building and a balanced attack, the Timberwolves now look to take the next step toward an NBA championship.
