In a heartfelt and candid Facebook post, UFC fighter Themba Gorimbo announced the unfortunate halt of his ambitious project to build a solar-powered library in his home village of Muvuti, Bikita. The project, which was nearly 75% complete, aimed to provide local children with a place to study and access educational resources, especially during the evening hours when electricity is scarce.
Gorimbo expressed deep sadness over his decision to dismantle the nearly finished building, citing unforeseen circumstances that have forced him to stop the project. “Many kids were going to benefit from this project,” he wrote, highlighting the significant impact the library would have had on the community.
The fighter, known for his philanthropic efforts, shared his frustration with the pressures and expectations placed upon him. “My wish in life is always to do what I want with my money without having people telling me why must I do this for this and for that,” Gorimbo stated. He emphasized his desire to follow his heart and contribute to causes he is passionate about, free from external obligations and entitlements.
Despite the setback, Gorimbo remains committed to making a positive impact. He concluded his post with a hopeful note, stating, “Next mission is dealing with strangers and making their days better and life better.”
