Lusaka Zambia

Lusaka, Zambia, police rescued a 20-year-old woman who was found tied up and gagged under a bed in a home located in the John Leigh Compound.

The rescue, which took place in the early hours of the morning, led to the arrest of four people, including a couple and two of their relatives.

Authorities detained 50-year-old Charles Kashimba and his 42-year-old wife, Brenda Njimba, along with Brenda’s 21-year-old sister, Patricia Chisweka, and her niece, Monicah Kamfwa. The couple’s 11-year-old daughter was taken into protective custody at Kampasa Police Post.

The victim, identified as Agness Mutemwa, had reportedly been abducted from her parents’ home the previous evening around 6 PM by unidentified individuals. Her sudden disappearance sparked concern and a frantic search by her family.

Later that night, Agness’s father, Henry Mutemwa, received a text message from her phone indicating she was tied up inside a house within the same community. He immediately alerted Kampasa Police Post around 2 AM.

Responding swiftly, police officers raided a nearby house owned by Kashimba. During a search of the home, officers discovered Agness hidden beneath a bed, bound at the hands and feet and gagged with a cloth.

With no clear explanation from the residents about the captive found under their bed, police took all four adults into custody. Investigations into the abduction and motives behind the act are now underway.
